[atlas-l] current status of atlas?

There's not a good comprehensive writeup yet as it's likely to change
during early prototyping and implementation.... which is the next
step. I started that process with test data but decided that a
proper prototype would be best atop lots of real data, so all the
attention lately has been in getting grub.org up and running, lots of
discussion on grub-dev (http://lists.wikia.com/mailman/listinfo/grub-
dev). Once grub is even remotely stable, I'll make a test Atlas
Factory interface to it :)

Closely related to an Atlas Broker would be the current search
interface for Wikia, http://re.search.wikia.com. It's basically a
javascript app that runs in the browser and pulls search results down
via JSON, with the option to do a lot more at that point including
getting more JSON results from other indexes and merging them (ah-la-
broker).

A lot of stuff related to the Atlas model is happening, just not much
movement on the protocol, but I hope that changes soon too.
