 PRESS RELEASE (For immediate  release)
  
 Date:  August 18, 2006
  
          Voters will have an opportunity to meet local candidates and hear a debate on  Initiative 933 at the Sedro-Woolley Community Center (703 Pacific) on Thursday  September 7th at 6:30 p.m. 
         The  three-part program, sponsored by the Skagit County League of Women Voters, will  feature candidates for the Skagit County District 3 Commissioner position and  the State's 39th Legislative District. Also, two speakers will debate the  pros and cons of certain property rights issues addressed by Initiative 933  which will appear on the November ballot.
          The audience will be invited to mingle with candidates  from 6:30-7 p.m. and during intermission. Attendees are urged to submit written  questions for the District 3 candidates. Refreshments will be  available.
         Pola Kelley, President  of the Sedro-Woolley Chamber of Commerce will be the moderator. Joining the  Chamber as  co-sponsors of this event are the American Association of  University Women (Mount Vernon Branch), the Friends of Skagit County, the Skagit  Valley Herald, the Courier-Times and the Sedro-Woolley Food  Pavilion.
