Education is only part of the issue; maybe even a small part. Self interest rules. How do we get others to see the big picture. Some of the most talented and educated people I have known simply make decisions based on perceived self interest and cloud their mind from seeing reality.....michaelcaspergeorge at yahoo .com

I don't see any problem with neutrality regarding the selection of what
the issues are. This is a wiki, so we are not constrained by space. As
to how politicians might use issues, well, I think they are
significantly less able to do anything particularly bad when voters are
educated in the basic facts surrounding various issues or proposals.

There is no magic bullet, of course.
