[Campaigns-l] looking at ajax technology

Ok, I'll say up front and say that technical stuff like this is mostly
over my head.

That said, MediaWiki is open source software, and people write add-ons
to it all the time. If you see a feature that you really like, bring
it to the attention of the people working on MediaWiki.org, and see
where it goes. That has to happen first, because many of these
add-ons require upgrades in the core software, which means upgrades
that the entire wiki community has to hash out. And then we need to
be able to make the case to Wikia to be sure they agree with us that
it would be worth the investment in time and money to do these
upgrades and put in these add-ons. That's the basic business
strategy.

Google Maps are supposed to work, although I'm still having trouble
with them. There is a site out there that provides information on all
the US Congressional Districts, and I'd love to see someone do similar
things in other countries. We first need the data in a standard
format.

Keep the ideas coming!

Chad
