[Campaigns-l] Too many votes?

There seems to be a lot of voting on policies on Campaigns Wikia at the
moment. I have taken part in them all, but now I am wondering if it's such a
good idea.
First of all, this is still a small group. Around 7 people vote on a
subject. Is counting "yes" or "no" votes the best way to resolve disputes?
Surely with the numbers getting involved in policy debates, more dialogue is
a better idea.
Secondly, these are early days. Do we want policies which have been decided
on by a tiny group of people (sometimes 2 or 3 votes approving of a policy
can be all it takes to get it passed) to direct this community? Yes, they
can be changed later (more voting!) but do we need to be setting them quite
yet?
Mopst people on this list aren't participating in these votes, why? Is it
because you feel much the same way as I do? Are there too many votes on the
wiki at the moment?
