Ok, for now i write here short HOWTO, later i add on wiki more complex
guide.
1.You need program to work with .po files. On GNU/Linux is few
options (examples: KBabel http://kbabel.kde.org/ and PoEdit
http://www.poedit.net/). On Windows and MacOS X i know only one
program: PoEdit. If you been setting program (information about you:
name and mail) set this informations which you want to be public
available (it been written in translation file plus i use this in
ChangeLog file and during uploading file on SVN repository - thus
everyone can see it). You don't need fill this informations (in this
situation i write Anonymous as a translator or <private at mail.org> as a
translator mail).
2. If you want start translate on language which are not listed on
page, send me a message (by mail: thindil2 at gmail.com or try catch me on
IRC #searchwikia channel). I create language files. If translation
exist, go to step 3.
3. Download .po file with selected language from
http://svn.swlabs.org/grubng/trunk/site/translations/ (example: for
German - http://svn.swlabs.org/grubng/trunk/site/translations/de.po)
For now available:
de.po - German
es.po - Spanish
fr.po - French
pl.po - Polish
pt-br.po - Portuguese, Brazil
pt.po - Portuguese, Portugal
4. Start translate. You don't need translate all. You can even
translate only one text.
5. Send this file to me by email <thindil2 at gmail.com> or by open issue
in bugtrack and attach translated file to issue
6. I upload it on SVN and add to page (proposition: maybe add small
delay - day or two - between upload and add to page? This give time to
check translation and can little prevent from spam and vandalism).
If someone have other questions or propositions about translation
process, please ask ;)
