[Newzealand-l] politics and politicians

New Zealand Wikia will be lunching a new project, created to document
and monitor New Zealand politics and politicians. We chose a wiki
because it provides powerful tools for collecting, linking and
classifying information and links.

We are going to open access to the wiki so that anyone can edit the
content of this site. During the US Presidential election in 2004,
many pages on WikiPedia were involved in edit wars whereby competing
factions would fight over the content of pages - mostly those relevant
to the election. Because of this, we recognise that it would be
foolish to exclude anyone one, open editing will remain on this site
to all and sundry – hopefully we don't get some of the heated
discussions that have occurred on blogs. :)

We will be starting by inviting anyone to contribute, and slowly
expand the list of contributing writers. We are aiming to expand the
content to encompass all parties and the mainstream media.

Let me re-iterate one key point. This wiki is about documentation not
opinion. If you want opinion there are hundreds of New Zealand
politically oriented blogs out there.
