I read an interesting article somewhere where someone coined the term "fat
belly" to describe the area between the head and the long tail. I kind of
imagine the community will be effective at looking at and ranking the head
and to a degree the "fat belly", and the true long tail will necessarily be
ranked by algorithms. Perhaps community generated algorithms, but
algorithms nonetheless.
