[Search-l] twin principles, or what brings us together?

If I were to imagine my vision of a search utopia, I would see the
"portal" as being nothing more than a commodity front end. Of course
money will be a force wherever there's attention, but when the index
and all that built it becomes part of the commons that attention can
be distributed and flow through whatever portal is the most fair.
