Why not we have a Wikia at Home project ?List of distributed projects: http://www.distributedcomputing.info/projects.html
In fact there's already a few search related projects listed there:
http://www.distributedcomputing.info/ap-internet.html#dcrawl
I dont think some higher authorities and owners of the Wikia project are really hearing our shoutings here..
The opposite actually, it's very clear that a distributed approach is the best way of going about much of this, so I totally agree. I'm really hoping that once we get some momentum behind standard ways for these distributed resources to communicate, many or all of the projects listed above would all be willing to adopt and interop with each other.
Unfortunately, from the quick scan of all those listed, they seem to be either dead or closed/commercial... is anyone here involved with any of those listed?
Jer
