This, of all the questions, is least worrying to me about Wikiasearch.
Wikipedia, one of the most highly trafficked websites, and probably the most
likely to be abused of all the highly trafficked websites, manages to handle
this problem pretty well. Jimmy will tell you that vanity spam / clueless
users are the biggest offenders, not so much automated abuse bots. If a
system is open enough and has enough of a dedicated user base, all abuses
are shallow.
