Tagging? This email is out-of-context, what sort of tags do
you want? Something like what OpenCalais does?
Certainly that is one of the defined directions that
opencog is moving towards, albeit in small steps
right now. I'm hopping to have basic tagging working
in about a few months, identifying not only people, places
and things, but also having more general relationships
(given a word or phrase, identify the related concepts)
and so, in principle, if there is a pre-existing databse
of tags (created e.g. by humans (del.icio.us, digg, etc.),
or  e.g. by machine  (GATE, OpenCalais, etc.) then it
should be able to abstract and categorize new items
into the pre-existing tag sets, by means of similarity
measures.  Or so says my blueprint. How well it might
actually work, I don't know till I build it.

I'm not sure what "ui" has to do with tagging ... are you
trying to implement a del.icio.us or digg type tagging UI
(as opposed to automated tagging methods)?
