[Search-l] Website malfunction, help please

Hello community, i just found out that there exists  a mailing list. It's 
partly due to the messy site layout of Wikia Search.
My question is, can anybody please explain to me how the log-in works? My 
problem is this: When i come to the site, via a link in my mails informing 
me of changes to mini articles and categories, and I want to edit a Wikia 
page (user talk for example), i klick LOGIN. After log in i am redirected 
to my own user page but that is useless because it does not contain links 
to other Wikia pages (categories for example). So i hit "Back" to go to the 
page where i started login and re-load that page in order to have it 
recognize that i am now logged in. But it doesn't!
Also, the Wikia search seems to not want to give me any results when i'm 
not logged in (and even not a few minutes ago when i was logged in). It's 
frustrating! Can anyone enlighten me please?
Browser info: Opera 8.54, accept cookies but throw them away on program exit.
