I have just tested it. You are logged on both if you request to log in, 
being remembered
*from the social side*.
(It then sets wikiaSearchToken, wikicitiesToken, wikicitiesUserID, 
wikicitiesUserName, JSESSIONID, fwlc)

At least the wording needs to be fixed.

The link is everything. That's how it is designed. But i have underlined it.

If that helps... I have added to the left Wiki: Log in and Search: Log 
in. So with the upper link you now
have three login links!!

It works depending on where you are. The whole separate logins mislead 
everything. That's done at
skin level, so can't help you. The links say "Log in" even when you're 
logged :(
