The direct question I wonder about is whether we should be returning 10 
results by default or *fewer*.  Because we have the magical ajax 
scrolling thingy, probably we only need to serve up 5-6 to fill the 
first screen in the browser.  Would the page load faster for people on 
slow connections that way?
