Artemis sounds very much like a typical agent-based approach to problem solving. Individual agents specialise on specific tasks and share a common language (protocol) through which to share results.<div><br></div><div>The notions of factories (or worker agents), brokers of agent capabilities and information, etc have been analysed extensively within this community and if I recall correctly there are some prototype search systems implemented using such as approach.</div><div><br class="webkit-block-placeholder"></div><div>I don't know Artemis directly but if this sort of direction is of interest for Wikia then I would be happy to put together a little summary/bibliography of related agent-based research dealing with decentralised search.
