</div>i've given ~200 of them to <a href="http://shadowserver.org" target="_blank">shadowserver.org</a> to use as honeypot victims. that<br>
was the limit of their power. we're also sending them out as passive DNS<br>
sensor machines (see <a href="http://sie.isc.org/" target="_blank">http://sie.isc.org/</a>, plz run a sensor if you can!). for<br>
most uses a P3 or P4 machine isn't worth its fedex costs.<br>

</div>is swlabs incorporated? what's its mission? who is its board? is it a<br>
recognized nonprofit public benefit? the days when a few of us could get<br>
a domain name and some servers and start a project without any paperwork<br>
are coming to an end. since one of the operative questions at the moment<br>
is "does wikia control $x?", any $x which does not have its own strong<br>
identity and transparent ownership/control is a bad answer to that question.<br>

i'm all for you beefing up <a href="http://swlabs.org" target="_blank">swlabs.org</a> if that's what you want to do, but it<br>
has to be more than a domain name and some hosts and some cooperative<br>
sysadmin.</blockquote><div><br><a href="http://swlabs.org">swlabs.org</a> is only a domain name, owned by jer (donated for use by/for wikia) and is NOT a seperate organisation. when i said it was a server for the community etc etc, that server is provided by, afaik, wikia for our use. thus wikia/jer own all of that. thus i would count it as "a wikia resource, for community use".<br>
