This might be a touchy issue, but it's come up in other circles and I
want to propose an idea/solution here...

All of the new BEWARE stuff is based on a new platform I've coined
"KT" that is built atop hbase (open source bigtable clone that uses
hadoop). KT is working /really/ well for all of the ratings, adds,
edits, deletes, annotations, suggestions, and so forth for the new
social interface experiments.

I'd like to re-implement the mini articles using KT. We'd import all
the existing ones, and the functionality would be similar in that you
could edit (in place like the results), there'd be a history, and so
forth. These wouldn't be using or related mediawiki though, they'd be
their own thing and have the same back-end as the rest of the new
stuff, so edits will show up in the page history and global changes,
the rss feeds for changes, etc.

I hope it isn't a big deal, as I'd live to unify all the interactive
elements onto one platform, and we'll also have the ability to easily
customize features/functions as needed for mini articles.

Whadya all think?

Jer
