[Vim-l] Deleting tips

Proposal for deleting unwanted tips:
- Put {{Delete}} at the top of the tip page; see:
  http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Delete
- Post a message to vim.org mailing list (when it works):
  Subject: Wiki delete tip 124
Body: This tip is about ... and should be deleted because ...
- After one week, if no serious objections, delete the tip
and adjust the links elsewhere to compensate.

For example, if we delete tip 124, we would:
- Change tip 123 'next tip' to point to tip 125.
- Change tip 125 'previous tip' to point to tip 123.
- Delete the VimTip124 #REDIRECT page. -or-
Replace redirect with a "this tip has been deleted" template.
- Fix any other links to tip 124.

Please comment on the feasibility/desirability of the above.

See also a proposal to have a "Deprecated" template:

Following are three examples of tips to be deleted.

Tip 124 is redundant as its author notes:
  http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/VimTip124
  http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=101

Consider tip 436:
  http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/VimTip436
Accidently typed control-u and lost your input?

The tip concerns what to do if you type some text and then
accidentally press Ctrl-U (deleting what you entered).

Surely one should learn how Undo works, and ignore this tip?

We won't do anyone a favour by fixing tips like this. For the
tips to be useful, we must remove cruft. Let's not waste time
fixing the typo in the title, and rewording the tip - just
delete it!

Another example proving my case is tip 403:
  http://vim.wikia.com/wiki/VimTip403
Request for tip - interleaving '.' and '@:'

This is simply a question about how to do something, and a
comment that the comp.editors newsgroup would be a better place
to ask.

John
