[Vim-l] Main Page

I have developed a proposal to replace the Main Page, and would welcome
comments. Please edit the page yourself, or its talk page, or post
suggestions here. If there's no objection, I would like to implement this
change soon (within a few days).

The aim is to have the main page focus on tips, and make it easier for tip
readers to find things. I've had to leave the News page as just a link. The
RSS feeds are very impressive, but in practice what they show is often not
much value.

Proposed main page:

BTW I note that many sites on wikia.com have really attractive main pages. I
had a look at what was involved, but it seemed a bit too complex at the
moment. Also, a wiki on a text editor probably doesn't need a multimedia
main page. However, some aesthetic improvements might be worthwhile. I tried
to work Vim's green logo colour into the main page, but it looked awful.
Someone with more web experience might like to have a go.

John
