[Wikia-l] images via direct url

a few days ago, somewhere admist some slowdowns/other happenings, images
loaded via direct urls stopped working. kinda

before you ask the usual questions, here's some data

its not my computer (winxppro.sp2)
its not my browser (ff2.updated)
its not my browser (ie6.last)
its not my browser (ie7)
its not my isp (verified with 2 out of state and 1 out of country)

i've noticed its only on 1.10 wiki's

eq2 (1.10) fails

bioshock is a 1.12 now, and it works

halopedia got hit by this too, and it really screws with their "era" icons
in the upper right of the pages.

this was during the time of some of the upgrades, and also when that
weirdness happened with the regexblock and 10.x ip's, so i'm wondering if
the image whitelist got mangled somehow
