[Wikia-l] Useage of a <divx> tag like <youtube>

I thought the techs were supposed to be doing something about making the 
video tag more generally usable for other services?
Jimbojw has one extension that looks interesting, 
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:EmbedVideo
Perhaps it would be best to merge functionality of multiple extensions, 
extend for a few more services (I can think of Stage6[noted] and Veoh as 
other used ones), and create a new one for use (Keeping the old <youtube 
/> tag for backwards compatibility.
It may also be advantageous to be able to use local stuff in some cases?
But I can think an advantage EmbedVideo has, it's using a Parser 
Function instead of a Parser Tag, so it will work nicely with temples, 
so if we used the syntax {{#video:youtube|id}} then someone could create 
a {{YouTube|id}} tag which would also do things like allowing for 
framing and other stuff.
