Google is kind of a mystery -- there are a lot of things that we can't
directly affect, like how they assess those links.

If you're thinking about how to raise your wiki's Google ranking, then I
wrote up a page of tricks here:

There's ten steps there, but they basically boil down to three things:

   * Write lots of content-rich pages that all link to each other.

   * Move your Main Page to match the search terms that people will use --
"Charles Dickens Wiki" instead of "Scroogepedia".

   * Get high-quality websites to link to the wiki, using the likely search
terms as the name of the link.

And if you want that in an even shorter form:

   * Google likes good websites. Make a good website, and Google will like
you.
