Thanks for the explanation, but I'm not arguing that Wikia is wrong. I'm just
pointing out that it is possible to frequently use the Internet and register at
several sites and NOT be asked for your DOB. Therefore, Wikia should give a reason
when asking for the DOB.

My point about Wikipedia is that they don't ask for a DOB (for the non-profit reason
you mentioned), yet they STILL provide a privacy statement.
