Thanks Gil. That's a generous offer. If I were in the US I'd have a quick talk just
for the excitement of proving there are real humans behind Wikia!

However, Google has answered my questions. I also found a couple of sites that have
a privacy policy with a fairly clear (although vague) explanation. Your advice that
no explanation is better may very well be correct. It would be nice if a privacy
policy could say that DOB is a legal requirement and offer some promise of
non-disclosure, although I understand the hassles any commitment could cause later.
