[Wikia-l] What is the process for requesting additional file name extensions be allowed for upload?

Speaking as an admin, I would likely never allow publicly added .zip files
on my wiki, or nearly any other site I host, either.
For several reasons, mostly that .zip files tend to encourage poor naming
conventions and massive file sizes. Neither are desirable in a highly
classified (organized) environment. Further, the legal implications may end
up being the show-stopper, should there be any.

I figure an easy enough workaround might be to name the file in such a way
that naturally lends itself to being renamed to the original:

BunchOGames.zip -> BunchOGames.zip.txt

I have no idea if MediaWiki has internal file format recognition or MIME
detection or not, but I have a feeling that it does.
If so, perhaps one of the below might work:

BunchOGames.zip -> BunchOGames.zip.bin
BunchOGames.zip -> BunchOGames  (no extension)
BunchOGames.zip -> BunchOGames.piz (would require Wikia to make a change
to your wiki, which they won't want to do)

The OTHER, other workaround would be to simply host the files off site.
RapidShare.com or one of those other shady, insidious sites ought to
suffice... ;)
