[Wikia-l] sysop-like flag not considered admin flag

The sysop flag carries with it the notion of administrator to much. I 
think it would be beneficial to create a flag with basically the same 
powers as the sysop flag but meant for people that aren't considered 
local administrators.

Giving an outside person sysop-like powers without considering them an 
administrator can be helpful often.
For example, Charitwo has been very helpful on the Narutopedia in 
getting rid of spam and vandalism, and made use of sysop powers on many 
occasions. However he is in no way a local admin, or even a local 
community member. For that reason we had to have the sysop flag removed 
so that he wouldn't show up in the greeting signatures after making 
cleanup edits causing new users to ask a non-community member for wiki 
specific help.

Likewise there have been many cases in the past where a wiki has asked 
me to helpout with something that required sysop powers, as well as 
various animanga wiki I ended up with the sysop flag on. As a side 
effect it caused confusion making it look like I was admin on dozens of 
wiki abandoned by the founders that gave me the flag, despite the wiki's 
actually being open for adoption.

In these kind of cases it would definitely be helpful to have a 
sysop-like flag that doesn't carry the notion of administrator with it. 
Perhaps as a bonus, this flag can be one that bureaucrats can remove 
from someone, and people can remove the flag from themselves as well 
(resign). That way it could in a way be considered something like a 
temp-sysop and people wouldn't need to worry so much about giving it out 
in cases like a wiki getting a random crapflood from one of the many 
useless groups on the net.
